Why a Chef Would Use a Meal Delivery Kit

Why a chef would use a meal delivery kit

You know I love to cook. I love thinking about food and spending time in the kitchen. But like anyone else, I don’t enjoy cooking when I am hungry, tired and frustrated and realize that I don’t have the ingredients that I need. Like my dear cousin Cynthia said, “You just can’t pull it off at 6:00 p.m.!”

This is when a meal kit delivery service can come into play.

Meal kits have come a long way over the past few years. They are more competitive than ever, with pricing that is reasonable and ingredients that are fresh. There are options for many dietary restrictions such as dairy-free and gluten-free, and there are many plant-based options.

Many services focus on locally sourced and organic ingredients, designed by chefs, and feature delicious recipes that make cooking at home very rewarding. Plus, the meals are healthier and tastier than going out!

I have personally used and enjoyed Sun Basket, a San Francisco-based subscription meal delivery service. We get the ingredients for two meals a week, at about $40 per meal for four people. I love not having to worry about what is for dinner those nights – it saves me so much energy! And it is also an easy way for my kids to get in the game – there are clear instructions that teenagers can follow!

There are local meal delivery kits for every taste, such as Bay Area’s Good Eggs, Purple Carrot from Massachusetts, and national options like HelloFresh.

Don’t be afraid to give a meal delivery kit service a try - it might be the key to keeping your sanity during a busy week!
